An 18 month update

Ben turned 18 months old on 4/8/08. He subsequently had his 18 month pediatrician's appointment. He gained almost a pound in the past three months, weighing in at just under 23 pounds (10th to 25th percentile) and grew 1 1/2 inches, measuring at 34.5" (90th to 95th percentile). Here is a list of Ben's vocabulary at 18 months:
Papa/Daddy
Mama
Doggie
Kitty
Book
NO!
Oh! (and Uh-oh!)
Up
This
What is this?
More (also knows the sign for more)
Blankie
Ball
Baby
Please
Yeah!
Help
Necklace
Hi
Hello
Bye

He will also make the following noises when asked:
Rowr! (Lion)
Hoo-hoo! (Owl)
Meow (Cat)
Ruff ruff! (Dog)
Boka-boka-bokAAH! (Chicken--my favorite to request, btw)
Eeek! Eeek! Eeek! (Monkey)
Vroom vroom! (Car/truck)

Ben knows these body parts and will point them out when asked to locate them:
Ears
Head
Eyes
Nose
Tongue
Belly button
Toes

He's understanding much more than he's able to articulate, but that's common at his age. All in all, it was a good check-up and all systems are go!

Good Job Mr Ben! I can't wait to hear the chicken myself!

You should try sun butter ON chocolate glazed donuts. I think I just gained a pound thinking about it! We have the other extreme. Mr Tubby here was almost 15 pounds at 3 months. geez. These boys need to hang together to even each other out!
