Operation Elmo Update

Operation Elmo appears doomed to failure. Despite a love/hate relationship with the costume, Ben seems to have drawn the line at actually putting it on. A trial fitting a couple days ago ended in tears. Frantic, panicked tears.

A typical conversation goes like this:
"Ben, do you want to be Elmo for Halloween?"

"No! Go away!"

If you give him the costume and say, "Hey! Look, it's Elmo!" he'll take it and say, "No! No!" and then give him a hug and start kissing his nose.
