About the only positive that came out of the Cubs game last Thursday was bringing Ben a foam claw. He was very excited, and immediately began working on his unstoppable claw fighting style.
He's also been very interested in listening to Lisa's iPod and wearing our shoes. Pantsless with flip-flops is a good look, dontcha think?
We've been taking Ben to Old Town School of Folk Music for Wiggleworms classes for the past several weeks. The first few weeks he seemed pretty into it, but in more recent weeks he's been reticent about joining the other kids in dancing and playing. It had basically become 45 minutes a week of forcing Ben to listen to a guy play guitar and blow bubbles while Ben clung to one of us, scowling at the teacher and other kids (see yellow shirt picture below) and then screeching when we tried to set him down. Then, suddenly, at this week's class, he decided this Wiggleworm stuff was okay. Funny kid.
Ben has been making incredible...er...strides in the Mobility Dept. We've been trying to keep up and occasionally capture the action in pixels. Warning: It's a biggie!
Yes, I'm aware someone probably ought to call DCFS for the musical selection. I keed! I keed!
Bonus video! If you listen reeaaal close and turn up your speakers (and honestly, your speakers are already turned up from playing air guitar with The Ramones, right?) you can hear Ben snoring. And if you can't hear him snore, well, he's pretty darn cute in that hat, ain't he?
Mom and Dad babbling over what is an otherwise adorkable moment of Ben not so much learning how to grasp the rattle as not learning how to let go + telephone-shaped child's toy = shameless excuse to get some Blondie on this site.
A couple of weeks ago I gave Ben a different rattle while I was changing him and he managed to bonk himself in the face, so...progress.
